There's gonna be a total of five main parts that you're gonna need. The first one is going to be the base plate and that's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable attachment point. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado

Hi there flat towers, today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit on your 2020 Chevrolet, Colorado. The big difference between these kits though is the umbilical cord that comes with it. You're either going to receive a straight cable with them, which is ideal if you have a tow bar that has channels in it so you can run that cable through those channels. There's also a kit with a coily umbilical cable, and that's ideal if you don't have any channels because that coil is going to keep your cable up off the pavement so it doesn't hang down. It's going to give you that tension from the coils. Diode wiring is going to take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights here at the back of the vehicle. So people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. more

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Ryan: How's it going, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Wiring. This is going to allow you to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of the Colorado. That way you'll be safe and legal as you flat tow your Colorado down the road. What I really like about these compared to some of the others is the fact that once we get them installed, all we have to do to use them as plug them in, compared to some of the other ones where we have to drill into our taillight housing, or like the magnetic style, for example, we have wires hanging we have to set it up every time and we have to worry about those magnets scratching up our truck's paint. Our diodes are actually going to separate our new wiring from our factory wiring and that's especially useful in the case of a short or something like that, it's going to protect our factory wiring from any type of damage and to fully complete our wiring setup, I used a Roadmaster 6-pole connector, as well as a bracket, a long no-drill bracket and a coiled cable. Now putting together a flat tow setup can be a little bit overwhelming, but keep in mind, there's only five main components. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Seven Wire to Six Wire Flexo Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267.Here's what our diodes look like installed. Now, the reason you're going to want this wiring harness and diode kit for your vehicle is because when you're flat towing, you need to have a lighting system to stay legal. By utilizing diodes, we can use the factory bulbs in our taillight assembly and not have to worry about using magnetic tow lights on our vehicle, which can scratch the paint. We simply make a connection between the motor home and our Colorado, and we'll have our factor lights working for our taillights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. These diodes are great because not only do they utilize the factory bulbs that we already have, but the also prevent the flow of electricity from the motor home back into the expensive components of the Colorado, so we don't need to worry about any electrical back feed causing any damage to the vehicle's wiring or computer systems. Now, what's great about this kit is that we get a six way connector on the front of the vehicle with a nice spring loaded dust cover to keep the elements out. Now, for this particular flat tow setup, we use the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate, a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect, the Roadmaster Seven to Six Wire Diode Flexo Coil Wiring Kit for our lighting system. For our braking system, we use an SMI Stay and Play Duo, and for our tow bar we use a Roadmaster Falcon Two Tow Bar. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267. Here's what it's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see here, we've got our left brake light illuminated, and that's illuminated coming through through 4-pole wiring that we added to this vehicle, which then runs to the diode that's behind the light here, and that splits the two signals. One, from the wiring on the motor home that's coming in, and the other, the vehicle's factory signal. It's going to take those and bring them out the same so then you can just use the factory lights, and not have to add any bulb and sockets. It's going to do a great job of giving you your tail lights, turn signals and brake lights on your towed vehicle. It's going to make it nice and easy because there's no magnetic lights or anything that you to set up. more
